Re: Sheffield United still seem a little upset about us
*were relegated*

IMO we got off lightly, however we pleaded guilty, took our punishment and that should have been the end of the matter.

The action Sheffield United took is not how football clubs should deal with disputes.

Re: Sheffield United still seem a little upset about us
We got fined 2 mil for the contract breach
3 mil for lying and hiding the contract breach.

Would have been a points deduction if everyone wasn't convinced we are already relegated.

Re: Sheffield United still seem a little upset about us
Irrespective of what other clubs did at the time we effectively rented the two armies from an individual and not a club.

The FA twigged this and because one of them had moved but one stayed it told Duxberry to regularise the Tevez contract. This was never done and so the FA fined the club.

The simple fact is that we tried to circumvent rules got found out and then were in flagrant breach of a commitment to rectify the situation. The club took its punishment and moved on but it still seems like some fans have not.

And if SheffU want a legitimate argument against a club getting away with something without punishment that season it should be Liverpool fielding a reserve team at Craven Cottage where Fulham gained a relegation saving three points.

"""Wasn’t any more than a contract issue eh. So why did the FA fine the club £5M?"""

Because they could.`

It was a world record fine for what was a minor clause in a side contract allowing Joorabchian to be able to move Tevez whenever he wanted. This clause would have not given any advantage to West Ham, and in fact would clearly have been detrimental if used.

The fine was excessive, and we certainly would not have deserved a points deduction, notwithstanding the drivel spouted by Lord Griffiths based on nonsense testified by the likes of Henry Winter. an acknowledged cunt.

Sheffield United's action were opportunistic based on an idea by the cunt Whelan, and an utter disgrace They managed to tarnish our name in the press and generally drag our name through the mud. because they thought they could get us relegated and stay up. Their case was a bit like me suing my neighbour because the court did not give him a custodial sentence which prevented me from shagging his wife. Yes it was that ridiculous.

As far as injustice is concerned this is up there with the acquittals of Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson, Steve Gerrard and Harry Redknapp.-

We were heavily fined as a deterent against any further 3rd party ownership. There was no precedent that proved this fair.

In fact, QPR were only fined £800k for worse contract breaches with Faurlin in the Championship.

Also, that prick Lord Griffiths' comment that we had earned 3 more points with Tevez than we would have without, was absolute bollocks. The PL investigation after our agreement to compensate Sheff Utd dismissed there being any evidence to warrant further punishment.

I didn’t realise that the FA were the font of all truth, Comma. I assumed they were just another political organisation who were mainly interested in not looking bad in the media.

Re: Sheffield United still seem a little upset about us
Stupidity by Duxbury...Joorabchian...led us into this expensive crap situation...

Then Winter & Griffiths stuck it to us...wrongly...elitist pseudo football knowledge and shit analysis...

Sheffield United contributed mightily to their fate with poor performances in last few games...
And sour grapes Whelan could wait to stick it to WHUFC...

Re: Sheffield United still seem a little upset about us
Despite all the tabloidish media nonsense at the time, it really wasn’t anything more than a contract issue. We notified the PL that there was a contract problem when we noticed it, then new contracts with Tevez and Masch were drawn up.

It should have ended there but the media never really accepted that little West Ham should have had players as good as Tevez and Mascherano.

As for Sheffield United, they went down because they chokers, which they’d proven repeatedly since then.

Didn't Wigan and Fulham chip in against us too...???

And where are Henry Miller and the Ex Judge Griffith these days...

Cost WHUFC over 30million...

Re: Sheffield United still seem a little upset about us
I still think Phil Jagielka deliberately handled the ball in an attempt at match fixing agreed by Wigan & Sheffield Utd presuming we would lose at Man U

More realistic than the idea that we gained an advantage because someone was entitled to transfer Tevez to another club against our wishes.

Re: Sheffield United still seem a little upset about us
Sorry but I can't see anywhere in that article any reports of current Sheffield United discontent with us. Just a load of re-hashing of the long fucking tedious history of the Tevez affair, and a rumour that WH fans might wear Tevez masks.

It's just some shit writer trying to make something out of nowt. I imagine our games with them will actually be quite tame affairs as that's the way football is nowadays anyway.

Nothing to see here.

It's really nice when grown ups learn to move on and realise what's really important in life. It's even nicer watching divs who don't learn, still suffering after all this time and blaming every cunt but themselves for their unhappiness

Or rather chip butty on shoulder...

And the fact they got turned down half a dozen times regarding having a case for compensation, before finding some doddery old judge willing to agree with them, like a kid going to all his aunts/uncles/grandparents for sweets after his parents said no, then giving it the big one when someone finally agrees...

Fuck Sheffield United and every cunt that is still going on about this.

They bang on about Tevez but they fielded a weakened team against Man United in a gamble to win points elsewhere and failed, Purely down to them.

I actually like Warnock but when he fails it is never his fault. Was he born in Liverpool?
